KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Bank Negara Malaysia, the country’s central bank, has announced the appointment of Mod Adhari Belal Din as assistant governor, in addition to his function as strategic human capital department director.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Bank Negara said Mohd Adhari’s appointment, which will take effect on 1 May, means he will be tasked for strategic management, human capital development center, IT services and strategic human capital departments.

Prior to his appointment, Adhari served as the Director of the Strategic Human Capital Department as well as the Strategic Management and Risk Management Departments.

Before joining Bank Negara Malaysia, Encik Mohd. Adhari served as a Managing Consultant with the Hay Group.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Organisational Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, United States.

The central bank also announced on its website that Assistant Governor Encik Marzunisham bin Omar who is in charge of the Economics, Monetary Policy, International and Statistical Services Departments, will be seconded to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as Executive Director for duration of two years effective 1 May 2015.

Arising from the secondment, Assistant Governor Encik Shaik Abdul Rasheed bin Abdul Ghaffour will cover this portfolio effective 1 May 2015.

Early this month, the central bank said its international reserves amounted to RM391.4 billion (equivalent to USD105.6 billion) as at 15 April 2015.

The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.2 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
