AUSTRALIA – Stargroup (ASX:STL), formerly Icash Payment Systems Limited, disclosed that it has been awarded the ATM supply contract for the next three years for the Clipsal 500 Adelaide.

The Clipsal 500 Adelaide is Australia’s largest domestic motorsport event. The 2015 event was attended by 286,500 patrons and is one of the state’s major tourist attractions, generating AU$39.76 million in economic benefit to South Australia.

The Boards of Stargroup and the South Australian Motor Sport Board recently met to finalise the agreement.clipsal

“This is arguably the best touring car event in the world and it is full of stalls, food outlets, memorabilia shops and other retail outlets that lend themselves to frenetic ATM activity,” Stargroup’s CEO and Executive Chairman Todd Zani said.

The Clipsal 500 Adelaide has been recognised as a leader among major festivals and events winning numerous awards.

In addition to winning numerous South Australian and Australian Tourism Awards during its greater than 15-year history, the Clipsal 500 Adelaide was inducted into the V8 Supercars Australia “Hall of Fame” in 2005. This was the first time an individual event has been granted this prestigious honor.

“Having competed here as a driver, I know that Adelaide becomes a party town with street parties and other forms of entertainment, all of course with a motor sport flavor but the atmosphere of the vent is amazing. It flows over to adjacent entertainment precincts due to Adelaide’s unique street circuit thus generating an amazing amount of economic activity,” Zani said.

Stargroup (ASX:STL) was trading higher on the Australian Stock Exchange in early trading today. Shares of Stargroup were trading 2.78 percent higher following the disclosure.

Stargroup Limited is the only ASX listed company deploying ATM machines in Australia and the only listed ATM company having a direct ownership interest in the manufacturer of its ATM technologies. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
