AUSTRALIA – Mining and metals stocks Whitehaven (ASX:WHC), Evolution (ASX:AVN), and Resolute (ASX:RSG) are leading gainers in the morning trading at the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) today.
Whitehaven Coal Limited’s stock is up 4.41% to traded at 2.840 a share, with 1.2 million shares exchanging hands. The company’s production and sales update moved the stock higher in the opening bell.
Metals and mining firm Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX:EVN)’s stock also trended in morning trade, gaining 3.488% to 2.225 a share.

More than 2.1 million shares exchanged hands in early trading, though there was not market moving disclosures that the company released.
Resolute Mining Ltd (ASX:RSG), a company involved in gold mining, development of resource projects and prospecting and exploration of minerals, also trended this morning.
