OUE Healthcare Limited (OUEH) has announced the launch of its first joint venture hospital in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China.

The inauguration of the Changshu Hospital took place with the presence of Singapore’s Senior Minister of State for Manpower and Sustainability and the Environment, Dr. Koh Poh Koon, and Suzhou’s Mayor, Mr. Wu Qingwen.

The 100-bed Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) hospital will be operated by OUEH’s joint venture company, China Merchants Lippo Hospital Management (Shenzhen) Limited (CM Lippo).

This is the first private O&G hospital in Changshu, offering premium medical services in obstetrics, gynaecology, paediatrics, and other related specialties to patients in Changshu, Suzhou, and the Yangtze River Delta region.

Changshu, a county-level city under Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, has experienced consistent economic growth, with a 2.0% year-on-year increase in GDP in 2022, reaching RMB277.4 billion.

It is among the top five most prosperous counties in China in terms of GDP. The city benefits from its strategic location in the Yangtze River Delta economic powerhouse, being only 55 minutes away from Shanghai by high-speed train and approximately 40 minutes from Suzhou by car.

The Changshu Hospital occupies a total gross floor area of approximately 23,000 square metres and positions itself as a premium specialist O&G hospital catering to the affluent market segment. This offering is expected to attract patients who would typically seek high-quality medical care from O&G hospitals in Shanghai.

In addition to its premium O&G services, the hospital features a confinement centre with 27 suites for postpartum rehabilitative services. It also provides ancillary medical services such as medical aesthetics, further enhancing its comprehensive health and wellness offerings.

Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Chairman of OUEH, expressed his satisfaction with the location of their first joint venture hospital in Changshu, highlighting its economic vibrancy and pro-business environment.

He emphasized the company’s commitment to delivering world-class care and services that meet the high expectations of Chinese consumers, drawing from Singapore’s clinical and care experience.

Mr. Yet Kum Meng, Chief Executive Officer of OUEH, expressed his excitement about the opening of Changshu Hospital, considering it a significant milestone in their journey to establish a regional healthcare ecosystem based on international medical quality and excellence.

He believes that their comprehensive care services will meet the personalized needs of patients, setting them apart from competitors.

The launch of the Changshu Hospital marks OUEH’s entry into the Chinese healthcare market and underscores their commitment to providing exceptional medical services in strategic locations.

With their focus on international standards and a holistic approach to healthcare, OUEH aims to meet the growing demand for quality healthcare services in China. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
