HONG KONG – Hong Kong’s Peak Tramways Company Ltd has announced the temporary suspension of service of the Peak Tram for one day on June 1, 2015, HongKongTravelNews.com has reported.

In a statement posted on its website, Peak Tramways said the temporary suspension of service is necessary for maintenance work to be carried out.

Services provided by New World First Bus Route No. 15C between Central Ferry Piers and Central (Garden Road Peak Tram Lower Terminus) will be suspended during the period.

The Peak Tower, however, will remain open during the suspension period.

During the service suspension period, alternative public transportation will be available:

(A) New World First Bus Route No. 15 between Central Ferry Piers and The Peak – a temporary bus stop will be added at the Garden Road Peak Tram Lower Terminus;

(B) Public Light Bus No. 1 between Central (Two ifc, Hong Kong Station Central MTR, Light Bus Terminus) and The Peak – operation will be strengthened throughout the period.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this necessary regular maintenance may cause. More importantly, the safety of our passengers is of prime importance and the maintenance work will help to ensure that the Peak Tram remains a sound and reliable mode of transport for the community,” the statement reads. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
