CEBU, Philippines — This June, the Cebu Business Month (CBM) 2024 celebrates its 28th anniversary with a strong focus on inspiring entrepreneurs, fostering collaboration, and catalyzing growth.

Under the theme “Padayon Cebu,” the event organized by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is dedicated to empowering micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

The Cebu Business Month has evolved significantly since its inception as “Cebu Business Day” in 1991. It gained national recognition in 1996 when then-President Fidel V. Ramos declared June as “Cebu Business Month” through Presidential Proclamation No. 748.

This year’s CBM aims to strengthen the integration of public and private sectors to enhance Cebu’s economic landscape, emphasizing the CCCI’s leadership agenda to promote the “Invest Cebu, Prosper in Paradise” brand.

CBM 2024 kicked off with a launching and press conference on April 25, setting the stage for a month-long celebration. The grand opening salvo on May 24 introduced several new initiatives designed to transform Cebu’s business environment.

Highlights of the month include the “Good Design. Good Business Summit” on June 13, focusing on improving customer experiences across hospitality, retail, and service sectors, and the “Enabling Cebu’s Competitiveness through Digital Transformation and Innovation Forum” on June 20.

Additionally, the “Captains of Industry: A CEO Networking Night” on June 26 will bring together Cebu’s top CEOs to foster knowledge exchange in a dynamic setting.

This is followed by a summit on June 26-27 aimed at inspiring, promoting, and growing MSMEs by addressing their unique challenges with insights from industry leaders, startups, and policymakers.

In July, the focus shifts to Cebu’s capabilities in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector with a MICE Forum designed to explore opportunities for enhanced economic growth.

The month’s activities will culminate in the “Empowering Cebu’s MSMEs” expo on July 12-13, providing MSMEs with access to resources and solutions tailored to their needs.

The CBM 2024 Working Team, led by CBM Overall Chairman Regan King and Vice Chairman Anton Perdices, along with CCCI President Jay Yuvallos, are committed to driving the success of this year’s festivities.

The CCCI envisions making the Cebu Business Month a business festival where stakeholders converge to celebrate and promote business growth together.

With its value-driven approach, CBM 2024 aligns with the collective aspirations of its members, stakeholders, and partners, encapsulated in the resounding battle cry – “Padayon Cebu.”
