Meiden Group celebrates its growth in Singapore with the International Headquarters Award and new facilities

SINGAPORE – Meiden Group announced today that the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) has awarded Meiden Asia Pte Ltd with the International Headquarters Award

Meiden Asia has established a regional headquarters in Singapore to oversee sales & marketing, manufacturing, engineering and R&D activities for the Group in Southeast Asia.

Since venturing into the Singapore market in 1975 through the setup of Meiden Singapore, Meiden Group has seen remarkable growth over the last forty years.

Recognising the strategic importance of the country in its regional operations, Meiden Group continued to increase its investment in Singapore by moving its regional headquarters function to Meiden Asia.

Meiden’s water technologies have been adopted in several prominent water projects in Singapore. The projects include Jurong Water Reclamation Plant, Singapore’s first industrial wastewater recycling plant, which uses Meiden’s combined ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR) and upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) technologies, and the Changi Water Reclamation Plant upgrade which will be one of the world’s largest ceramic membrane bioreactor projects.

With the strong demand for Meiden Singapore’s specialised technologies, the company expanded its facilities recently to include a new ceramic membrane assembly factory and a Membrane and Water Technology Centre.

The factory is poised to meet the growing demand from Asia and Middle East market for its ceramic membrane units. In addition, to adapt to fast-changing needs in the region, the Membrane and Water Technology Centre will focus on R&D to advance the development of water treatment technologies.

The launch of these new facilities is one of the milestones that marks Meiden Singapore’s 40th anniversary. The facilities will officially be opened today by Guest-of-Honour, Mr Lim Kok Kiang, Assistant Managing Director of the EDB, Mr Yuji Hamasaki and Meiden Group executives.
