An explosion occurred at the Roxas Night Market in Davao City, the hometown of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, just outside the Ateneo de Davao University before 11 p.m. tonight.

The cause of the explosion remains unknown as of this posting but two persons were seen injured and taken by stretchers towards a waiting ambulance. Live video on Facebook also showed plastic chairs with blood stains.

Initial reports said at least 20 people were injured but the police has not issued an official statement regarding the incident, including the number of casualties and the cause of the explosion.

Witnesses said they heard loud explosion, followed by smoke. Police has ordered a citywide lockdown following the explosion. Police cautioned the public on a possible second explosion.
