Gage Roads Brewing Co. (ASX: GRB) was awarded trophies for Champion Australian Beer and Best New World Style Pale Ale at the Australian International Beer Awards in Melbourne for its ‘Little Dove’ Draught.

Little Dove was also judged the Gold Medalist in the Best New World Style Pale Ale class, making it the champion national brew from almost 1,800 entries at Australia’s most coveted beer awards.

The Company’s Chief Operating Officer Aaron Heary said Little Dove, a 6.2 per cent Pale Ale, had only been produced for six weeks and the AIB Awards was the beer’s first serious tasting against its peers.

“Little Dove is a beer that involved all our brewers coming together over three days and trying a number of approaches and recipes in the search for a beer that had something special and, importantly, was something we all liked,” Heary said.

“We are extremely proud of the recognition this beer has achieved and look forward to sharing its success with the growing number of craft beer enthusiasts in Australia that demand something unique and high in quality.”

Little Dove will initially be available in draught and on-premise in WA and on the east coast.

The Company’s Managing Director John Hoedemaker said he was also very pleased with the result and what it demonstrated about Gage Roads’ strategy for future growth.

“This is a fantastic result and I’m extremely proud of the guys at the brewery and the team effort that led to this remarkable achievement. It is further proof that we are currently producing Australia’s best quality beer and gives us confidence that our strategy to focus on our proprietary craft beer brands is the right strategy at the right time,” Hoedemaker said. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
