    Van-Bus Collission Kills Five in Samar, Philippines

    EASTERN SAMAR – At least five persons died while seven others were injured after a passenger bus collided with a passenger van Sunday night in Barangay Bagtic, Quinapondan, Eastern Samar, authorities said today.

    Police investigators said the four of fatalities died on the spot while a seven-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital but died on the way.

    The fatalities were identified as PO1 Lea Caores of Dulag, Leyte; Jodie Ann Malindong, 17; Rowena Malindog, 24, and Wendel Amande, of Gen McArthur, Eastern Samar.

    Initial investigation showed that the BLTB bus was on its way to Guiuan Eastern Samar when it crashed into the Duptours van while maneuvering a curve in the said area.

    The five fatalities were passengers of the van.

    Those injured were identified as Antonio tamayo, 58; Cecilia Casas, 13; Jose Lospe, 60; Editha Boco, 58; Annie Rosas, 58; and the drivers of the van and bus that were identified as Roland Mondal, 39, and William Galenzoga, 37. – BusinessNewsAsia.com
