The South Korean government said it could approve a third internet bank following the success of K Bank and Kakao Bank. It was not officially announced what the third internet-only bank will be but sources said South Korea’s top Shinhan Bank and internet firm Naver may be teaming up to launch the online-only lender. Moody’s Investors Service cut its credit rating on Hong Kong just a few hours after it did the same on China’s.
