Cyber security is a shared responsibility, according to the FBI Legal Attaché of US Embassy in Manila, Lamont C. Siller. Assisting him in the formation last year of a Joint Cyber Security Working Group (JCSWG) is FBI Steven B. Merrill. The bureau is sharing information on what they know about cyber threats, and guiding companies to proactively addressing their ability to detect, prevent, and remediate cyber security incidents.

The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is organizing the 2nd IT-BPM Summit on Cyber Security this coming March 29, 2017 at the Marriott Hotel, Pasay City, the Philippines.

With the theme “Enhancing Capabilities to Combat Evolving Cyber Threats,” this year’s summit brings together the experts and top practitioners in the fields of advanced security automation, threat intelligence, and security analytics solutions.

They will demonstrate how available tools, technologies, processes and policy frameworks can be implemented to reduce risk and significantly improve cyber security in the IT-BPM industry.

Focus is being given on meeting the critical need to protect the integrity of IT infrastructures, and of data being kept and processed in the Philippines. The summit will focus on these concerns and on the prevalent and emerging best practices that are being deployed to combat cyber threats.

Leading government agencies tasked with creating the policy frameworks and development agenda on cyber security were also invited to help guide attending companies in the formulation of their plans, and how the government can support and collaborate with them.

IBPAP’s mission is to contribute to enhancing the security and resilience of the sector’s critical information infrastructures, and finding ways on how to combat the evolving cyber security threats.

This year’s IT-BPM Summit on Cyber Security presents a strong proposition for the significant breakthroughs that can be achieved when the combined resources of governments and the private sector are put forth to effectively combat cyber threats.

Opportunities exist where both the public and private sectors can benefit from each other’s capabilities to prevent, prepare and respond to cyber attacks and data breaches, and help create more effective and cohesive cyber security strategies.
